Forget cabbies, these golf buggies come with screens to keep you company on the golf course. Two friends of mine, James and Harry, were recently taking a well-earned break out on the golf course and noticed that screens had been embedded in the golf buggies they were using. Now there's loads of really cool things that were going on here, no doubt there was a map of the golf course, but there were timely reminders at certain points to order food and drink, there was also a nudge to go quicker or to slow down just to keep the traffic on the golf course working perfectly, and then there were timely reminders about doing repair to pitch marks etc. This is a really interesting way of using screens and again is another indication that kiosk is coming, but it also is a fun reminder of what we could be achieving with deskless and frontline workers, because on the golf course you're not looking at your phone, or you certainly shouldn't be, but the screen in the buggy is something you are going to keep seeing, and if you time it right based on GPS, based on weather conditions, based on commercial opportunities, based on health and safety, you can get the right message into the right eyeball at the right time, and that is an excellent way of using screens. So although it's kind of fun and maybe it isn't going to really change the world, I do really applaud seeing innovation like this, and I give this five out of five. Well done guys!
