Step inside an Italian supermarket where the screens are as fresh as the produce. Did you know that in the world the UK ranks third in the number of screens used for digital signage behind America and China? Quite a long way behind but certainly ahead of other countries. However I'm not sure that's going to stay that same way for long. This summer I've been travelling around Europe and in Poland and in Italy, you'll see some examples here, I've seen some exceptional use of digital signage. Much better than I've seen in the large supermarket chains in the UK, although that might be changing soon. Now I was particularly impressed by the quality of the design, the thoughtfulness of the content, it was quite interactive, there was kiosks, there was also tips on how best to use the produce and everything felt very slick and very thought through. This experience was not alone, I continue to be impressed with how European countries are taking on digital signage and being extremely creative with it. If the UK is going to hold on to third place then it is time for us to match that in the way that we work and it is coming, we're seeing that with our customers now but I am really impressed with what I've seen on my holidays so I'm going to give that Sign of Genius score of five out of five.
